Gandia is one of the main tourist destinations in Spain, already dubbed as “the tourism capital”. This town in Valencia is located in the south of the province, next to the Mediterranean Sea. It is the capital of the Safor district and has a population of about 80,000 inhabitants. It has 7 kilometers of coastline and a total surface area of 700,000 m2 of sand, with four beaches with different atmospheres for you to choose the one you like the most.
In addition to its beaches, hiking activities can also be carried out in Gandia. The summit of Mondúver is a spectacular viewpoint from which you can contemplate almost the entire Valencian coast and, on very clear days, the silhouette of the island of Ibiza. It is accessed by the Gandia-Barx road. Before reaching Barx, in the area of La Drova, there is a path that leads to the summit.
Regarding the local cuisine, the most typical dish is Fideuá, a paella made with noodles. It is a dish that attracts thousands of people from all over the world every year, thanks to the traditional International Fideuá Contest.
Rice is the star of the tables: baked rice, brothy rice, a band of rice, with chard… Among all of them, the famous Valencian Paella stands out, which is prepared in different ways: with chicken and rabbit, with vegetables, seafood…
There are also all kinds of sweets such as Panous, Corona de Gloria, Coca de Mida, Pumpkin Fritters, Sweet Potato Pastissets, Casca de Reis, Arnadí…
